Harry Brunswick Loëb papers, 1911-1956.

This collection consists of personal and artistic papers of Harry Brunswick Loëb of New Orleans, La. Included are typed and handwritten correspondence, post cards, photographs, newspaper clippings and other printed items, poems, plays, and musical scores. The collection includes a play titled The divine scarecrow, based on the life of Sarah Bernhardt. Much of the verse is written in a humorous style.

Harry Brunswick Loëb (1884-1957) of New Orleans, La., was the son of Samuel B. Loëb and Cecile Dreyfous Loëb. In addition to being a composer of popular songs, his musical career included management of the French Opera House, commentary about music for the local newspapers, and management of the Harry B.
